Walter the Purple Pony was created in the spring & summer of 2000 by Michael & Terry Bernstein on Chincoteague Island the home of the annual Pony Swim. Since that time he has touched everyone who has come in contact with him and his simple message of Fair Play and Be Right & Be True. He has been used successfully in "Don't Laugh at Me" and also Anti-Bullying programs in schools around the country, South America & Canada |

| A second chapter story was introduced in the summer of 2003 dealing with the values of friendship and more chapters will be introduced in the Spring of 2005 dealing with different values such as: Feeling Different, Volunteering and Learning Problems. We feel Walter represents good character values that can be related to our fast-moving everyday life and times.. Let Walter be a help in letting our younger generation know that they are not alone and that someone has gone down that scary path before and that it's a Journey not a Destination. |
